Really enjoy his sense of humour and his enthusiasm - you could mistake him for Dr Doolittle at times (as he is partial to the odd conversation with the wildlife).

Barry is the real deal
I watch a number of sailing channels (Nahoa, Sailing GBU, Nandji, Fair Isle, Patrick Lane, The O'Kelly's, Delos....) and Seadog is for sure my favorite. The others are all entertaining and enjoyable, but you can tell Barry is putting everything he's got into this adventure. You see him on good days and bad says, and even on boring days. But he's never boring. He's hopeful and positive completely not jaded. You really feel the pride and sense of accomplishment when he made it halfway around the world. I enjoy the sight-seeing on land as well as the sailing. Can't wait to see him complete his circumnavigation of the entire globe!

Real world vlogging... can definitely relate on every level!
I’ve been watching Barry and Shaddy since they started their Pacific passage. I will admit I binged on all the episodes leading up to that so I can catch up with their travels. What an amazing voyage they have taken. Barry is so personable, humble and realistic. Other shows get too greedy on merch or turn their vlogging into an American reality show 👎🏼. I just want to see what life is on the high seas as a solo sailor and Barry portrays it perfect. Love the history bits, the sailing tricks and of course the ceremonial beer, pizza and music! Thanks Barry... stay safe and keep it up... always looking for your new vids.. I hope to maybe one day to run into you at some anchorage and share some beers.. or just good Colombian coffee! 🍻 ☕️ ⛵️

A wonderful sailor that shares his sailing life and adventures while sailing around the world. He provides beautiful views of the places he visits, tips on sailboat living, the trials and tribulations of the life at sea, and a most important a sense of humor and always a positive outlook. There is nothing more apt than reality on YouTube, for me thats what the site is there for. You see everyones successes and failures and Barry does this by the bucket load. The pain, the joy you feel every step of the journey. It's clear that Barry is a great seaman, but the added nature of social media is something he has caught up on, it's that honesty I love. He learns, listens, cares about his crew friends and proper community they are. The raw emotion of him achieving his goals is worth anyone subscribing to Barrys journey. It's been one of my saviours through covid, the inspiration to achieve your goals in life. Barry will achieve his for sure.

Unlike most channels, Barry’s isn’t about posing. He simply tells the story of his travels and his personality brings it to life.
Given his way of working in a shoe string budget the audio isn’t always great, but again this is part of the charm! Personally I wouldn’t change this.
Then there’s the dream factor: I can’t even dream of owning a million dollar catamaran, not can I even dream of chiseled shoulders and a six pack. I can, however, dream of following in Barry’s footsteps 😁

Great to watch Barry and his adventures across the oceans. Especially when he talks to Wilson and/or a little bird landing for a breather.... He is great entertainment and shows the good and bad sides to life as a solo sailor. Much respect having sailed from Alvor, U.K. and getting to New Zealand.
